9th Session 2024

The 9th Session of the Haryana History Congress was held on November 16–17, 2024, in collaboration with the Department of History, Dayanand College, Hisar, Haryana.

The Chief Guest, Prof. Narsi Ram Bishnoi, Vice-Chancellor, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar, delivered the keynote address, focusing on various educational policies of the government and encouraging their effective implementation.

The General President of the session, Prof. Anirudh Deshpande, Department of History, University of Delhi, spoke on “Raja Suraj Mal and Jat-Maratha Encounters in the 18th Century.” The Ancient Sectional President, Dr. Vellore Nandagopal Prabhakar, Archaeological Sciences Centre, IIT Gandhinagar, Gujarat, presented on “100 Years of Research on the Harappan Civilisation and the Contribution of Haryana: Challenges and Prospects.” The Medieval Sectional President, Prof. Daljit Singh, Department of History and Punjab Historical Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala, delivered his address on “Interfaith Dialogue and Communal Harmony in Sikhism.” The Modern Sectional President, Prof. Vikas Nautiyal, College Education, Government of Rajasthan, Jaipur, spoke on “Aadhunik Kaal Mein Punjab Mein Police Ka Sansthangat Vikas.”

The Valedictory Address was delivered by Prof. Narayan Singh Rao, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Dharamshala, who spoke on “The Generals and Warriors of Northeast India in the Mahabharata War at Kurukshetra: A Study on the Military History of Ancient India.” In this session, more than 110 research papers were presented.
